Why This Matter
Across many communities in Kenya, financial pressure, interrupted education, youth unemployment, and weakened support systems influence how households make everyday decisions.
Women often carry much of this burden, while many young people face pressures that affect their opportunities and limit future choices.
These realities often overlap, affecting how families plan, respond, and move forward.
Lasting progress requires attention not only to individuals, but also to the home environments where opportunity begins.
This understanding shapes the work of Amsha Futures.

Our Story
Amsha Futures grew from the conviction that meaningful change often begins in the everyday spaces where families make decisions, respond to pressure, and shape the next generation.
Early experience in Nairobi’s informal settlements revealed a recurring pattern: children and young people often carried strong potential, yet their progress depended heavily on the stability of their households.
This realization shaped the organization’s direction. Rather than focusing on individuals alone, Amsha Futures centers its work on the household, strengthening the family environment that supports stability and long-term opportunity.
